HMSG has a fairly tight float so you should be able to get a fill. When you enter your bid, it may have become the best bid so it raised the bid. Then they can play a game and raise the ask, thinking they can get you to chase.

Ask your broker which MM they are routing to. NITE is the worst. They don't reflect accurate customer quotes.
