That's right.. The West Bank was MERGED into the Kingdom of Jordan with consent of the existing Palestinian leadership in 1948.

Thus, it was Jordanian territory.

Does this mean that whites should still control the place? Do you think that Israel deserves to keep the occupied territories by right of conquest?

No.. what it means is that any political settlement has to include negotiation by all parties, as well as appropriate compensation for any land that is ceded by one party to the dispute to the other.

But let's not kid ourselves here. Tribal conflicts have occurred for centuries in all of these African (and any other) countries.

Just how far back do we go in determining who has the right to a specific piece of geography??

And in the case of Israel, the Temple Mount was there before the Muslims conquered and occupied it, and then placed a Mosque on top of it as an affront to the Jewish religion.

Or do we go back even further and find the descendants of the Philistines and Canaanites, and include THEM into any final settlement??

Could you find a map that shows what Israel's intent is with the eastern border of the West Bank?

It strikes me that Israelis want to control that border until such a time they can be assured that the PA leadership will not exploit it to transits weapons and terrorists to be deployed against Israel.

It will also become a hallmark of Jewish culture for all the world to see.

Just as the election of Hamas was a hallmark of Palestinian culture.

If I can't control the hostility of my neighbors throwing rocks and eggs at my house, and the police are unwilling to assist, then the next best thing is a very high fence and the willingness to kick their @sses when they threaten my family.
