Gib ... did you see your trade execute in real time? If you don't have real time observation of your trade, then it was likely executed when the market went through your price -- its just that the reporting back was slow. Your attempt to cancel forced them to reconcile and thus report. I periodically have this reporting lag problem with Schwab, but not recently. I know its a reporting problem because I've seen my orders executed in real time, but only get the feedback when I force the issue by trying to cancel.
