CL, I sense you may have struggled in high school and not got much further so, first of all, the use of the statement "There are no atheists in foxholes" is traced to Lieutenant-Colonel William J. Clear in a story of Bataan's final weeks, delivered during the "Army Hour" program over the NBC Red (Radio) Network in 1942.
This phrase is most often used to imply one of two things:
1. Its original usage seems to have been that people at risk of dying are inclined to believe in a god and pray to this god in the hopes that such a being exists and might save them from their plight (see Pascal's Wager).
2. More recently it has been used as an accusation that atheists are unpatriotic or disloyal or do not join or support the military.
Your application of the term to imply a basis for your suspicion of conspiracy and denial of altruism has no foundation so let me give you something closer from Thomas Paine, "Suspicion is the companion of mean souls, and the bane of all good society."
Now that we've got that out of the way, I was an investor in Maxam in '96-'97 but quit when it was clear that price was collapsing and funding for continuing operations, including all important proof of process, was nonexistent virtually guaranteeing that price collapse would continue unimpeded. None-the-less I check in once or twice a year, including lurking on a few boards such as this one, to see if that situation had changed because I believe a low-cost, environmentally friendly metals extraction process could have real legs if it were promoted appropriately.
Not to step on any 'oldtimer' toes here but the lack of strong promotion to raise investor interest and funding - and I don't mean an ineffective few hundred $K here and there - virtually guarantees the current stagnant situation will remain unchanged. I joined this board for the specific purpose of alerting said 'old timers' there was at least a possibility the situation MIGHT be changing - a ray of hope if you will - and would have liked to toss a few ideas around about it but planned to say no more otherwise because, in fact, I have no knowledge if that possibility is true; no more than a hope.
Since it is now clear that with friends such as yourself, Maxam does not need enemies, there's nothing more to say. And now you can return to ruminating with your fellow oldtimers unimpeded.
Mundus vult decipi, ergo decipiatur (but sometimes that's not the worst thing that can happen)
