What's happening with these Core Duo notebook prices? That's called a pricing waterfall. You know, when you introduce a faster part, in this case Yonah 2.33GHz, it gets the old "top price" of the 2.16GHz part, and so on. The top Turion X2 @ 2GHz performs about like the Yonah 1.83GHz part on most stuff, a little faster on the remaining. It's in between 1.83 and 2.0GHz Yonah. In June, then, Intel will have ~2 AMD-speedgrades of performance advantage over Turion X2, unless AMD can release faster parts. In August, that'll jump to the equivalent of about 3+ AMD-speedgrades, with Merom 2.33GHz performing like a 2.7GHz Turion X2.
