Condi Rice didn't even know what Al Qaida was, according to Richard Clarke. Russia was in no way a threat to us in 2001. They were semi allies. They remain so. Although they, like all other countries, have serious misgivings about Bush-Cheney and do not trust them. Our current government is not trusted by anyone on the planet. Not even by Canada. It's a new low in our history.
