As an exercise I recently catalogued my 1000-piece vinyl collection. Most of it is 60s and 70s jazz but there is some old rock and such in there, and I was astounded at the prices.

For instance, my copy of The Collectors' album with Lydia Purple on it is apparently worth more than $100. (The Collectors, a Vancouver-based group who eventually dumbed down and transmogrified into Chilliwack, were one of the leading bands of the psychedelic scene.)

Ironically, the prices seem more based on what shape the cover is in than the condition of the LP itself.
