Aaah, The Seeds...

I am obviously a few years younger than you, because I remember being mystified by them when they appeared among the usual pop suspects on Dick Clark's TV show Where the Action Is.

I'm sure that's the closest any of Dick Clark's shows got to punk. If the Seeds weren't proto-punks, they were at the least garage.

Here's a meme for you -- White Bird by It's A Beautiful Day.

When we put on the 1960s in the early 1970s in Victoria, B.C. (always a few years behind the times) at the Mount Douglas Rock Festival held in a park amongst the trees, It's A beautiful Day, who were playing a gig in Vancouver, heard about it and on their own initiative and coin decided to hop on the ferry to come over and play.

They were great, and speaking of adolescent hormones, the image of singer Linda Laflamme, who seemed to be wearing nothing underneath her dress, will forever be seared in the memories of hundreds of us young fellers who were in attendance.

It was a very fun weekend. To see some pictures go to rcmpsite.com

P.S. I make a number of appearances in the fine print on that website, as I was a sound mixer and lighting guy rather than a musician.
