All smear jockeys beg to be sued. That's part of their dirty trick. They try to get the target to deny it, then try to get him to sue. Then they have succeeded. And of course rightwing corporate money would pay for O'Neill's lawyers. Just like they did for the bimbos who sued Clinton on fabricated charges.

O'Neill lied from day one (he never served with Kerry) and has been a GOP dirty trickster ever since he was Charles Colson's bun boy with the Nixon administration. Colson later repented in prison, apologizing to all those he's maliciously harmed, including John Kerry. Also Nixon's FBi followed Kerry around for two years and investigated his entire record thoroughly and could not find a single thing he'd ever done wrong in his life.
