then the only things the individual can do are those things the individual as control over...That is more than feel-good, imo. Not if it doesn't have a reasonable chance of working. This reminds me a bit of the illegal immigration issue. All this picking sides stuff is just noise if the sides don't come up with efficacious programs. Or protesting the Iraq war. The war's on. You can't change that. So you march and carry a sign. Why? Because you want to make a statement to yourself and others about where you stand. It feels good to place yourself firmly on the "right" side.
