Doren; I think you can load win 95 on a 486 if you have only 4 megs. But it is a threshing machine of hard drive swaps and it virtually useless, as every task takes too long.
At 8 megs it is better, but at 16 it is acceptable.
32MEG is better yet for win95.

For NT I think it takes around 16 to run minimally,(I have never tried 8 on NT), and I suggest 64 Meg as a min for a serious user.

Do you get the same sluggish effects on Apples at the lower RAM levels?? I suspect you do.
