No. Where did you get that nutty idea?

I'm saying that early benchmarks affect the enthusiast market (because those are the only folks who pay any attention to them). That market is small as a % of units, but these parts command high ASPs.

Intel is announcing Conroe benchmarks early to freeze enthusiast desktop purchases (the vast majority of which go to AMD now) until the Conroe launch, at which point the vast majority will buy Conroe.

It is particularly effective because AMD is attempting a socket transition right now. So the "well, I'll stick with AMD becuase I can drop it into my motherboard" factor is absent.
