I found one US OTC stock that is developing vertical wind machines MMGW.OB

massmegawatts.com

A lot of pumps in new industrial installations seem to be vertical these days up to a certain size (50-75 hp?) A bove that they seem to be still horizontal. I wonder if shaft weight and the automaic need for thrust bearings due to gravity has anything to do with the shift of preferences to horizontal shafts in larger size machines? There are some very large vertical pumps built as well as hydro turbines but they don't have to contend with stresses caused by wind such as sway or bending.
