Kerry was all but silent for three weeks or more. Like a deer caught in the headlights. You can see Kerry's polls begin to dip at the beginning of the smear and then cross over with Bush as Bush then took the lead in the polls, and then he won the election. Check the polls. Kerry blew it...period.

Again, Kerry is responsible for the non-response to the smear. It hurt him in the polls and it cost him the election. You act like I'm defending the smear. I'm not. But there is no defense for no defense.

Once they saw that Kerry was not going to respond, they let him have it with both barrels, so $30 million dollars worth of TV ads, not to mention the free time they got on Fox, MSNBC and others.

If you think no one will believe them because they are lying, you got something to learn. $30 million dollars worth of lies adds up to the truth in people's minds when there is no counter punch.
