I'm new on this thread, but I wonder if there are any viable companies out there making wind turbine generators, other than
General Electric. There are many new concepts for wind generators, but I don't know if any of them has been implemented, or by whom.

One idea I like is for smaller units capable of providing some of the power requirements for individual residences, rather than having centralized wind farms that would be more like a traditional generating station. A decentralized system of individual wind generators hooked into an existing grid would not only relieve the grid of sudden demands (e.g., hot days for air conditioning) but would offer many security benefits from not having a centralized facility.
