Do you know their names? If not, then how do you know they are 'safe' reporters?

Because one worked for the NYT, and one for the Boston Globe, both papers that have proved themselves ludicrously in the tank for Kerry, as this latest article confirms. I can find there names again (I've forgotten them since 2004), but so can you for that matter. As I recall, the Globe writer had been the author of some puff pieces on Kerry.

And if you disagree with the phrase "ludicrously in the tank for", here's a thought experiment: gather all the facts, all the charges, all the counter-charges about Kerry, not omitting those that even Kerry camp has had to give up on, esp. "Christmas in Cambodia." Now imagine that the same set of charges were being leveled against a Bush-like Republican by a set of veterans getting money from Moveon.org.

Now, look again at the wording of the Times article. Do you really think it would read remotely the same way, if the shoe was on the other foot?
