I agree a stock paying even 8-10% a year only gives 1-2% at best per trade. this assumes the price doesn't drop and the bid/ask and commish's don't hurt you.

I was mainly referring to STOCK DIVIDENDS as opposed to CASH DIVIDENDS. Per my understanding, stock dividends are like a mini stock split - a 10% dividend is like a 10:9 split. it means you are given additional 10% of you shares if you were an owner on the record date. Therefore I would think the stock price would drop 10% on this date, but that isn't nec the case. Thus, my interest in this subject.
