Most beer anywhere is made by german braumeisters anyway, so what's the difference, i just drink the local cheap stuff, provided it's not too wretched, which some can be, but you learn those very quickly ... all three major beer companies in Mexico were founded by germans and still mostly import braumeisters, or send their own to Europe for training

For a close look at gringo-latino economic interaction, just try helping a mostly-european guy travelling on a UK passport to set up a microbrewery in the early 1990s in a place where land claims and human rights issues from the early 1500s are just coming to a boil ... doesn't take long to learn that your only relevance to locals lies in the depth of your pockets, they might buy you a beer, but if they do there's a reason, and first you will have bought them seventeen ... they're still pissed at lieutenants of Cortés and popes that died hundreds of years ago, and you're viewed as nephews of these guys, whether you like it or not ... the fact that their beer industry is controlled by a handful of people is less an issue than the fact that you, arriving in this very century, are considered less mexicano than a bunch of krauts who arrived in the last one ... probably this has changed somewhat in the last fifteen years, but i'd suspect not by much

The gravel market in Florida is very tight, i read recently somewhere ... there are lawsuits against existing gravel pits, no wonder as most of the state has less freeboard than your average broker's yacht ... so there's a reason to click 'Strong Buy' in the little box underneath -g- ... really i think i'll bid on a few more over the summer, this puppy always came back before, the project makes sense, and who knows, it could happen one day, or appear to be about to happen, which is all you really need ... well, that and a decent beer, eh
