I bet you personally use far less than the average person.

I do. I'm very supportive of efforts to improve air and water quality, to preserve nature, and to reduce dependence on oil. I do whatever I can and have for a long time. I've even finally given up my long showers.

There are things I don't, do, though. I don't buy in bulk, for example, that makes no sense for a single person in a small house. I'd have to join and make strips to Costco and get a bigger house to store the stuff, which would defeat the purpose.

My car is in the shop today. I've taken it in for its nine-year/105K mile service. It has 33K miles on it. That's how much gas I burn. Like I said, I do what I can.

But it makes me crazy to hear people going on about how any of that is going to fix global warming. Too muck Kool-Aid.

But I refuse to vote for Gore!

I couldn't bring myself to vote for Gore last time. I couldn't find anyone to vote for that year so I just skipped over that race. I like him somewhat less now than I did then. The Republicans would have to put up the devil, himself, to get me to vote for Gore. Knowing the GOP, though, I wouldn't put it past them to do just that. Put up someone like Frist as an opponent and I might have to hold my nose and vote for Gore. <g>
