Nomai's plan to ship "500,000 disks a month". This translates into $3 million dollars a month, or a total of $36 million a year. This is Nomai's upper estimate (they certainly wouldn't give a lower estimate). So, even with Nomai's upper estimate of $36 million over the next twelve months relative to $2 billion is revenue, is a drop in the proverbial bucket. I seriously doubt that Nomai will be able to sell that many disks let alone ship that many. If using a Nomai disk invalidates the warranty, it is probable that very few will buy the disks, this all assumes, of course, that Nomai would be successful in their bid to push the disks through the channel. Sales from buz alone are expected to exceed Nomai's disk projection. Obviously, today, the market preferred to believe abelson and crew. It's not difficult to find an analyst who is not positive on some aspect of a company's business. But to suggest that Nomai is a serious threat to long term earnings takes a much greater leap of faith than buying IOM above $30 expecting it to go to $35. If you're short, you should take note that that Nomai's initial threat will blow over.
