It really is indecent (your word) to continue to hype claims about our environment that haven't been scientifically proven.....then charge people money to read the book or watch the documentary don't you think? (I wonder if he donates the proceeds to a worthy cause?) As to lying about what other people say........he can't recall most anything he's ever heard or people he's actually met, so I guess it isn't possible for him to take them out of context.

I might have continued the conversation with this woman if she'd said decades or 100 yrs because I do believe frogs are in danger. But I didn't stick around long enough to engage her in a conversation when she said she felt guilty for moving into a new housing development, or when I pointed out that she isn't helping matters driving that big Ford 350 she used to pulled her trailer into the party. (this party takes place annually during Memorial Day weekend on a five acre ranchett)

The final straw was when she admitted she gets most if not all of her news from the CBS Evening News. Ironically they all seem to be liberals, and I have just quit wasting my time and energy on people who make outrageous statements and refuse to help the frog or do any research regarding what ever issue floats their boat.

I mean the hostess's (one of my very best friends) husband is making a killing on a patent he filed for a new formula for the little wheels that push along paper in copy machines and printers. He bought a new building in an industrial area nearby and is hiring lots of people to help him fill his orders. Here we are (my friend and I) talking with a man who went into business for himself three yrs ago and is finally doing well enough at developing web sites that his wife was able to quit her job last month and my friend says to him "it must be tough what with the lousy economy and all." I commented that 5.3% growth the last quarter wasn't anything to sneeze at, and to his credit he said: "it's not that bad."

I've noticed a few idiosyncrasies:

These folks are consumed by their hatred for GWB.

They are ignorant and wish to remain so.

They make no sense and in some cases are just plain hypocrites.

They stare at you with a blank expression when you try to engage them in conversation and site statistics or facts.

They get the majority of their information from CBS and like minded orgs. (yes, I do ask)

MY conclusion....they are fringe and will get/are getting left behind in the arena if ideas.
