Well now we get into specific doctrines of theology which are meant to be veiled threats to inspire repentance which involve the unknowable which is somewhat fruitless to venture . Though Jesus did often make some great points of an awaiting "hell" for some sinners in the afterlife , generally because it was an accepted myth at the time in his own tribal system of belief . The name for hell refers to those smoking , stinking fiery places , some of which i have visited myself here on earth.
Again thru "sin" we are doomed to this prospect , but what one man calls sin , another may have called "vice" as in the case of the Stoics and other philosophies . Life to the Stoic may have been considered an eternal banquet~feast set before us by an "intelligent benign creator" made more joyous by exercising restraint with an emphasis on compassion , brotherly love, acceptance & good manners . You find often the same thread running thru much of the Buddhist/Hindu thoughts in the east and actually does underpin all that we know as Judaism , Christianity & Islam as well . The only real difference is some like to emphasise this or that difference where there are really known at all. How many times do you pray per day ? etc.
Except the dickering with theological words and concepts which in reality change not one atom of the world as it unfolds as it always seems to continue to do . Though there were certain claims made in the OT & NT that did transgress against natural laws , of those miracles I will not venture either . There are enough miracles in one moment of existence expanded in our minds thru science , to satisfy me .
