"Mission Accomplished" anyone? Isn't this the banner that the Admiral of the ship had posted for his troops and for the President's arrival on board? Some of the comments from the Bush speech that day were: "Major combat operations in Iraq have ended...The U.S. and its allies have prevailed...Now our coalition is engaged in securing and reconstructing the country". "Our mission continues... Al-Qaida is wounded, not destroyed... The war on terror is not over..." I did not find "Mission Accomplished" in his speech. I do remember the democrats and media spinning it that way in the following days.
