In many cases that validates the strongmen. See Iraq as a model. Not every case, I suppose you will find some cases where the opposite is true. But subverting the system works more often than deposing the system.


Very true. Unfortunately, sometimes countries like Iraq or Yugoslavia need strongmen to stay the course. Not saying I prefer strongmen but when you remove them, sometimes violent chaos ensues......usually for years [see Yugoslavia during the 1990s; Iraq now].
