I do not agree with some of the Libertarian platform as I believe it could lead to anarchy. What good are rights if you cannot protect them, eh?
Nothing? Useless?
Libertarians (or those who claim to be) are VERY mixed bunch. You got your anarchist Libertarians (although they uniformally seem to deny being anarchists) and you got (somehow) your socialist Libertarians such s Buddy McKee. So whatever you are, you can claim to be a Libertarian. :-)

No, I have strong libertarian leanings, but see myself more in the shadow of one of America's greatest political thinkers, philosophers and patriots: Thomas Jefferson.
Jefferson owned slaves. Do you? :-)

Jefferson lived in a very different world than we do. When he was alive, that 3,000 miles of ocean was a real barrier. Now a missile can cross it in well under 15 minutes. When Jefferson was President, the American Civil War with its enormous expansion of federal power was still 50 years away. Most of what Jefferson needed could be made or grown right there on his plantation. Now people buy them from Safeway, Wal-Mart, and a local gas station.

Jefferson could believe many things that make no sense now.
