However many years after the fact, a truthful man could have remembered which country he was in. There is no actual evidence that he ever took CIA agents into Cambodia. The kindest thing you can say, is well, it was a war story, what do you expect?

And a truthful press would not have been trying to support Kerry by claiming, look, he might have been as close as only 35 miles away from Cambodia - close enough!

Yet the NYT somberly cited somebody who pored over maps of Indochina and presented this case with a straight face. They note he he supposedly "inserted SEALs" as if SEALS and CIA were the same thing. What the hey, close enough.

For a Democrat. Heaven help a Republican candidate caught telling a tall tale.
