Doug, CJ, and thread, re: Board rule of polite respectful behaviour.

I hope this is useful for the thread. I started to get slightly bothered about the discussion between Doug and CJ too. It's not that the two of you haven't got valid points. I was starting to get bothered by the degenerating tone as well as the sheer volume. So tx CJ for putting Doug on ignore!, even though I generally prefer reading your opposing views to sharpen my own conclusions.

Although this isn't anywhere nearly one of the better examples (as this was only starting to get a bit out of line - in my humble opinion of course) I still like to put the following more general point up for discussion at this moment as I've been considering it several times before:
Over the last year or so I find myself wondering every now and then what happened to our board rule of being polite and having respect for all? I think that over time enforcement must have degraded. A bit too much for my liking. Isn't there anything we can do about this? I mean, can't we reverse the degradation that I think was set in motion some time after Mani reduced his involvement?

I wrote Mani a PM about this particular example and his answer implied he is not enforcing polite respectful behaviour anymore, at least not for this particular example.
