Was reading an email from a buddy of mine who's still in Iraq. They guy has some fascinating insights, as well as some funny stories to go with them. Hope he writes a book someday. But I thought I might share this with y'all: The other night we became aware of gunfire in a particular neighborhood. We watched a man being dragged by a group of citizens to where the Neighborhood Watch had set up their command post. It appears that he was drunk and had taken to shooting up the neighborhood stores with his AK-47. We watched as his friends and neighbors took turns beating and kicking him. Then, he was pulled, staggering along to a nearby police station where they turned him in. He'll get a stern warning and maybe a few days in jail. But his community took the opportunity to beat the crap out of him first before he was given to the police. And justice was served! Hawk
