Noam has his reasons for the decline of the US which I will not contest. But IMHO, the military hawks and the socio-military gang has entrenched itself into power under Bush and has caused this nation's decline. The solution to all of world's problems is not military might. Bush needs to realize that soon, or like HItler he will be forced to do so by world events already unfolding such as Iran etc.
