I suspect you are not familiar with the educational literature on conflicts between the American Indian community and traditional education philosophy (though you may be- but from what you said, I'm making an assumption on this)- but one of their main criticisms of American public education, for the American Indian student, is the extreme (or at times exclusive) attention placed on individualism. The future time orientation is also an American Indian thing. |
