"Enthymeme" is good. I will try to remember it.

But in movies, the visuals are part of the syllogism, I think. If a man says "I love my wife" but the movie shows him strangling her to death, you're entitled to disbelieve the assertion.

"Actions speak louder than words" is what I call it. There may be a fancy Latin term for that.
