That's true.

Hurricanes lose strength by passing over colder water.

That's true.

Hurricanes lose strength by passing over land.

That's true.

Hurricanes gain strength passing into areas of low pressure.

That's true.

Hurricanes lose strength passing into areas of high pressure.

That's true.

El Nino causes fewer hurricanes and La Nina causes more hurricanes.

That's true.

All of the above is true. But it's not true that the destruction caused by Hurricane Katrina was because it was an unusually strong storm due to global warming.

It's not even arguable.
