Vanni: From DBC today

"-- Informix shares fell 17 percent Monday after the struggling database software maker said it would restate 1995 revenue to lop off $50 million and $200 million for 1996. Initially, Informix indicated the revenue reduction for 1996 would be between $70 to $100 million. Informix had been under pressure to bring the way it recognizes
revenue into line with industry standards. Several shareholder suits against the company cited the method, which critics have called overly aggressive. The company also said the Nasdaq market moved to delist the stock because of the company's delay in filing its second-quarter report, but a company spokeswoman said Informix is fighting the procedure."

And a lot of people were/are of the opinion that Informix had/has the best database software in the world. They made the mistakes of not tending the store and having odd accounting.... are there some lessons here for Corel?
