American Power Conversion contributes to new IBM Netfinity Rack systems
WEST KINGSTON, R.I., Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- American Power Conversion (APC) (Nasdaq:APCC) today announced that it has been selected the uninterruptible power supply (UPS) provider of choice for IBM Netfinity(R) Rack systems. The designation further extends the existing relationship between IBM PC Company and APC.
APC is introducing two slim-line, black rack-mount Smart-UPS(R) UPSs, for both single- and multiple-server environments, which are customized specifically to match the IBM Netfinity Rack systems.

supports Windows NT, Windows 95, NetWare, OS/2, and SCO Unix; and
-- APC's recently upgraded PowerXtend(TM) plug-ins for IBM Netfinity Manager integrate APC's PowerChute plus UPS management software.
The customized Smart-UPS rack-mount UPS, which is available immediately in North America, Latin America, Europe and portions of Asia Pacific, can be ordered through IBM.
