Bush's unemployment numbers do not include tens of millions of Americans who have given up looking for work, are living off their mortgage loans, have become semi-employed, etc.

The true unemployment rate in this country is around 20%.

Also much of the recent employment has been because of the housing boom and the war. The housing boom is over and the war needs to be.

That said, the economy is very strong in Texas, mainly because Texan politicians have stolen about 500 billion from the rest of us. What's good for Texas is almost always bad for the rest of the country.
