O'Reilly lied in prime time TV and said US troops had mowed down Nazi SS troops during WWII en.wikipedia.org Also look at the links off that page. The facts of the case are disputed, but even the most generous report has the American soldiers gunning down about a dozen SS prisoners. So it would seem that O'Reilly was probably correct, and even if he was not correct you have no basis for saying he was lying, which is a much more serious charge than just being mistaken.
