Look at the slide. Can you see what is missing from the AMD power calc?

From what I've read the AMB on the FBDIMMS adds about 5 watts per DIMM. Using 16 x 1GB instead of 4 x 4GB inflates the power requirement by 60W. Anyone know the performance impact using fewer large FBDIMMS vs many small ones? Unfortunately for Intc, Crucial is listing the 4GB FBDIMMS at $5300 vs $290 for 1GB.

Even with that they would be at power parity. I'd like to see the BOM cost on the 2 configurations. It doesn't do Intc any good to have a 2 socket server that costs more than an AMD 4 socket.
