Sprite,sprite,sprite. Put down all that liberal bilge and read the facts of History. Reagan forced the USSR to greatly increase military spending in the arms race, as a result, the soviet economy self-destructed which caused a public revolt led by Boris Yeltsin...people everywhere tend not to like standing in long bread lines. If it wasn't for Reagan's deliberate build up of U.S. military spending and star wars research, the Berlin wall would probably still stand today. Of course, Reagan was lucky to have a reasonable soviet like Gorbachev in power at the time the USSR started to crumble.
