I just read the NT 10Q, James, and note that the form doesn’t say that it wouldn’t be filed in time "due to unforeseen difficulties," as you reported. The whole phrase is "due to unforeseen difficulties arising in connection with its preparation." "preparation" difficulties sounds less alarming to me than the vague and nameless difficulties you evoked. (SEC? Agfa? Lawsuits?) Also, somebody (You? I don’t feel like looking up who) posted, as though it were very bad news, that the YES box was checked where the form asked if there were any significant "changes in operations." But when I had the NT 10Q itself in front of me, I see that the complete phrase is "any significant changes in operations from the corresponding period for the last fiscal year." And PRST lists the changes in an attachment. They’re the big increases in earnings, revenues, etc., that we’re familiar with already from the 2Q report – for example, that PRST expects to report net income in 2Q up from 337,000. in 95 to 2,936,000. in 96. How alarming is this?
A person has to take even what purports to be direct quotes on this thread with a grain of salt.
By the way, all, I asked Tom his reaction to John Tooker’s report that Nilpeter would only get out 3 to 10 Presstek-equipped presses in 1996-1997 (John, was this 3 to10 total by the end of 1997?) Tom said two interesting things. 1) "As long as they each use 100 plates a day, that’s fine with me," and 2) "The significance is that Nilpeter is the first in a new market."
PS Jason and his family are leaving Seattle for visiting here in New York for three weeks beginning Friday evening, August 16, so neither of us will be on thread until second week of September. (I have no internet connection except via faxing to and from Jason.) I hope to keep up minimally through Tom (Thanks for faxed NT 10Q this AM, Tom, while Jason was still asleep in Pacific time) and Neil (except that Neil will be traveling from this coming Sunday until the next Sunday.) |
