I always suspected as much when we hurled the things at each other in the fields when I was a kid. Apparently that was an environmental no-no

The "thing to do" for the dairy farm kids where I grew up was to collect the dried cow pies, wrap them in a cheesecloth, dip them in diesel fuel, light it, and fling it like a slingshot. :)
