There are very few pure traders, LC.

I know one who hangs his hat here on SI, but I think it's a gift you're born with. I owe my success in the tech days to watching his ability to effortlessly move in and out of stocks, usually at a profit.

I had to trade differently from him back then as commissions were much higher up here and all trades on Canadian brokers had to be "approved". Took 5-15 minutes to get a trade through. In early 2000, it was taking 2 hours, so I had to look for swing trades. Never did day trade much.

By 2001, I wanted to trade PM's and CC came along, so I don't hang out with the other guy much any more. You have to find those smart people who match your personalities, and more importantly, help you make money. I've found two, now three.

Gee, it's fun typing dogmatic bullshit while a holding is printing more and more new 52 week highs. Makes me feel... smart.
