I think the biggest single issue right now is the voting machines.

If the powers that be are allowed to turn what democracy we have in to a performance art only, then there remains no reason what so ever on the part of politicians to be accountable to anyone expect the moneyed interests that pull their strings.

If the electronic voting machines are not secure we no longer have an actual democracy. I never though that I would live to see the demise of democracy in this country. But after the 2000 and 2004 elections, I think it might be in my lifetime. There is so little regard for the principles that made this country great.
