Liberals have been proven right. People should be proud to be liberals. And they are. The rightwing attempt to turn "liberal" into a dirty word has failed. The rightwing has also forsaken their conservative principles and sold out to the corrupt corporate lobbyists. They are not conservative. Liberals are ironically now more conservative that Bushies on all kinds of important issues. Bushies don't conserve jack. They loot, squander, pillage, over-borrow, over-spend, pollute and waste. They have also badly damaged our democracy, military and national reputation.
Myself, I'm a centrist progressive. Progressive btw is the new term for liberal, fair-minded, smart-thinking, un-bigoted, forward-looking, honest citizens in this country, those of us who actually care about people, jobs, health care, education, our place in the world, Christian tolerance and a clean environment. For instance, I'm for a strong military/CIA, just not a stupid, arrogant wasteful one like Bush-Cheney. We progresssives don't like Big Brother big governments spying on us and trying to turn the USA into some kind of dishonest neo-fascist dictatorship. |
