re:<<PBS/Wavetop network the natural choice for content>>

Something to think about: PBS is only one national broadcast network. If PBS proves VBI to be a means of utilizing 'free' (no incremental cost to broadcast) bandwidth to the home and business, won't ABC, CBS, NBC be interested in broadcasting other content, using WAVO technology? How about the local affiliates use of the VBI in their local news and feature content?

Something to think about: What about all the cable channels we get at home, and could get at the office? Doesn't each of those channels have a VBI that can carry data? Each as a channel?

Something to think about: Barney reacts to VBI signals from PBS. Say a news ticker reacts to VBI signals from CNN. Mickey reacts to VBI signals from Disney. A Star Trek toy reacts to VBI signals from UPN. What kind of toy reacts to VBI signals from the Playboy Network?

Something to think about: WAVO is now licensing the interstises in FM band channels, and satellite TV broadcast. How many channels of data will those carry, using existing towers and birds, just a WAVO broadcast card at the head end?

Something to think about: With all that WAVO bandwidth carried on signals already in the air, who needs a "cable modem"? Does INTC just need to sell you a mass-produced (by INTC) a TV/FM tuner card they make that *receives* these signals, and connect it to a bit of tuning software like ... Windows 98.

Just something to think about. I know nothing.
