There is nothing about true religious faith that is remotely similar to a high obtained through narcotics. Given what goes on in this world and some of the crap that people have to live through, faith is hardly ever the "easy way out" like drugs are.

On the contrary, there are religious cults where people are 'addicted' to the ministrations of a particular religious leader who professes to be a desciple of God. Humans are capable of all kinds of addictions.....rarely are any of them very good. Faith taken to the extreme where it becomes an addictive state after all is just one more addiction to add to the pile. You may not be that way but I have seen a number of people 'addicted' to their faith and it ain't pretty.
