I2, I like the poetical prose of the King James but often read the New King James for better understanding of the Bible.

The particular passage in Romans 7 by Paul is one of the greatest examples of conversion and confession that I have seen. You can imagine the passion and regret of Paul when he says-

"O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death?"

And this was when Saul, now Paul is a follower of Christ! He still sees the state he is in although he has been delivered from his past deeds. I have heard so many argue with Christianity because they cannot admit sin in there lives. They say I take care of my family and have not lusted after my neighbor's wife- I do no sin but there is so much more. We sin whenever our thoughts are lustful or we carry resentment or jealousy around towards others. We do not realize that these negative thoughts are hurting us. It is like poison to our souls, bodys and our minds. I myself try to forget past wrongs done to me by others but like Paul, they come back to disturb my serenity. I can understand why Paul says what he does. He is talking about the very thoughts of sin he carries around within him, even though Christ has forgiven him.

Although God forgives us, as a fair judge he does not take away the penalty of sin, regret and other negative feelings. Just as King David, the apple of God's eye, was forgiven but God said the sword shall never be taken away from David's House for his grievous sins.

But I would have it no other way less I should get too full of myself and let pride convince me of what a righteous dude I am!

James
