Yes, AMD starts out new processes with high volume mid range parts - slower than the fastest parts on the previous generation where they have the best process data - while they accumulate APM data. They also don't want to Osborne parts made on their previous process. If the 90nm parts ship faster than the 65nm parts (at first) it helps keep demand up for the bulk of parts still being produced.

Intel doesn't seem to be able to figure this out, and it appears to be killing them this quarter, next quarter, and perhaps for some quarters after.

Do you realize how utterly screwed Intel is if they have any teething problems with CWM on their 65nm process?
