"You seem to have a bee in your bonnet about Canada."

I don't perceive it that way. If I have offended you, Please accept my apology. Canadians and Americans share a common border, and at times find it convenient to share much more. For instance in WW II Canadians were valuable ally, and contributed much to the freedom of the world.

I do perceive that Canada has a demonstrated a laise faire attitude towards immigration violations. I believe that Canada cooperates with the US Immigration Service much more constructively than Mexico does.

I am offended by people like members fresc and Solon that claim to represent Canadians, and are actively anti American.

"How would being helpful to the USA be a detriment to Canada?"

Truth is not relevant when partisans spin perception. Does not hyper liberal Canadian Broadcasting control on air media content?

Just as an example, my wife announced Friday night that she does not like Donald Rumsfeld. She gets a substantial portion of her news from sources slanted drastically left. I get a balance of both wingers' perception in my news intake. I perceive that Rummy has done well in a difficult situation.

"Have you forgotten all of the cooperation and help that Canada offered and agreed to during the cold war?... the dew line...USA air basis throughout the North.... providing a range for the USA to test their cruise missiles... etc.etc."

Canada has been a valuable ally of the US when it suited them. There was an outcry of support and empathy from Canada after 911 that helped to rebuild the relationship degraded by years of liberal rhetoric emanating from North of the lower 48. Canada is valuable trading partner that is not always treated fairly by the US.

"How about when 9/11 happened and US airlines were forced to land in Canada especially the East cost where Canadian citizens took USA passengers into their own homes until they could get back to the USA. Americans even had a reunion in Eastern Canada to thank the Canadians who treated them so kindly. And what about the Canadian soldiers that received American medals for saving lives of American soldiers and fighting along side American soldiers."

BDS might win the friendship of US BDS sufferers, but is not a good way to keep friendly communications with more open minded Americans. More BDS type Canadian media gets repeated in the US than pro American rhetoric.

Again, I prefer to retain a friendly relationship with you. There is huge distinction between your politics and that of Canadian Broadcasting.
