Hi Hawkmoon; Re: "And you think our soldiers are under pressure now? Wait until we find ourselves taking on SEVERAL countries at the same time, should they evolve into a new Caliphate. Then it won't just be 150,000 soldiers there, but possibly a million or more."

If the American public doesn't have what it takes to win in Iraq they damned sure don't have what it takes to stick it out across a territory 20x larger and with 10x as many enemy civilians.

You've lost contact with reality. Is support for the war stabilizing in the public? No. Has the rest of the recalcitrant nations of the world submitted to our will? No. Is the party that got us in to this mess reaping the benefits at the polls? No. Are Congress and the Executive branch putting together the laws and infrastructure that would be required to turn 5 or 10 million couch potatoes into IED fodder? No.

We're barely able to keep 100K+ soldiers in Iraq and we're not making plans to increase the size of the Army. That should be a clue right there.

This is the 4th year of war and no victory is in sight. Like said back in 2002, before this is over we will have taken thousands of KIA, and our side will lose.

The only thing we need out of the ME is oil, and they have been willing to sell it to us for cash, no thanks to the US military. Right now the price of gasoline probably includes an "Iraq adder", an amount we're paying extra as a result of the anarchy we have caused.

Back in 1776, there were guys saying the same thing in London, that continuing to fight those colonists was an exercise in losing slowly. Were they traitors to the crown? Or patriots? Remember, the only reason that Britain didn't win was because their people didn't have the stomach (or whatever it takes) to keep fighting. And those were the days of iron men, not like today's barcaloungers.
