<It doesn’t need to be proved. The law of parsimony gives it presumptive validity.>
ROFLMAO!!! Along with every other theory that "was" valid, and later proved to need changing.
< A claim that evolutionary change flows from mind, either within or exterior to an organism, is extraordinary and requires support.>
Of course, I'm not claiming to "know" what is right... I think it's interesting and indeed may eventually prove to have 'some' validity. On some levels it's obvious (IMO) in human familial traits. Anyway, I'm looking for truth, I'm not married to being proven right on some theory.
<If by “will” you intend desire then the answer is “no”.>
1.) As with a lot of these terms like "intelligence", "awareness", "consciousness", etc. one has to decide what these things mean before proceeding. 2.) Your answer of "no" presumes some knowledge about this beyond "it appears.........."
< In order to speak about “will” one must posit the self and self interest, and therefore the biology to support a mind.>
Is that right?? Does one need a 'mind', to have a 'will'... ? Next would be at what levels DO animals, beings, cells, have a "will"? Do humans? Mamals, fish??
